Comments: Wells Fargo is changing Wachovia's matching-gift program.The bank had matched up to $4,000 per year in donations, including up to $1,000 for non- education-related donations. Starting in January 2010, it will match up to $5,000, but only for education-related gifts.Paper Forms discontinued.8/25/09:Karen at the JK Group/Wachovia confirmed that a separate matching program would be in place for both Wachovia and Wells Fargo until 12/31/09. As of 1/2010 Wachovia employees would be eligible for matching through the Wells Fargo matching program. She said forms for 2009 gifts to be matched through the Wachovia program would be accepted through 4/2010. Procedure:


N Employee donor sends check to matching gift company, authorized company officer adds matching gift check and forwards both to the recipient institution.
N Employee donor sends form with gift to recipient institution, authorized officer certifies and returns to company for match.
N Employee donor contacts corporation via telephone to report gift and initiate match.
N Employee donor presents evidence of gift (receipt) to matching company, and company matches.
Y Employee donor logs into the matching gift website and submits the master request to the program administrator's office. Donor's charitable institution is contacted by administrator to acknowledge the gift.
N Company accepts a faxed form completed and signed by an employee donor.
