Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees.

Enter your company name below and find out if your employer has a program that matches gift, recognizes volunteer hours, or designates funding as requested by their employees.

If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

Common Questions

Q: How Can I find out if my employer makes grants or matches?
A: Start with our Matching Gift Search link in related pages. If you don't find what you're looking for, check with your Human Resources department or contact Northern Star's Development office.

Q: Can my match go to my Pack, Troop or Crew?
A: Generally, no. Most companies look to direct their matches to a 501(c)(3) organization. We CAN, however, make sure your unit gets credit towards their Friends of Scouting goal.

Q: My Company does United Way. Does that count?
A: United Way dollars don't count towards the Friends of Scouting campaign.

Q: Can my gift through payroll deduction be counted toward my Pack, Troop, or Crew’s Friends of Scouting goal?
A: Yes, all targeted giving through payroll deduction and direct pay can be counted toward their Friends of Scouting goal. Just share your name and the Scouting unit you’d like to designate your gift to, and we’ll take care of the rest!
